Arteco's batch number system  in the production plant Schoten

Arteco's batch number system (Schoten)

1. Bulk Products

On all documents, with reference to the batch number, the customer will find a pure sequential number of seven numeric digits. These 7 digits match the manufacturing order number, assigned automatically by the computer system. The manufacturing order contains the elements to assure traceability for the bulk cargo.

2. Packed Goods

A lot number identifies all individual packages (drums, pails, cartons, cans). This lot number consists of two lines. This coded information guarantees traceability. We describe hereafter the codification system:

Line one:

A C1 C2 C3 C4 C5 C6 C7 X B G1 G2 G3 G4 G5 G6

A: from “Afvulorder” = filling order
C1 to C7: serial number of the filling order. Every filling order allows only one product-package-combination.
X is in all cases a blank field
B: makes reference to our SAP product code
G1 to G6 : article product code in the computer system

Example:

A1234567 B511511 : a product packed according the requirements of filling order 1234567. The filled product has the code 511511.

Line two:

D1 D2 / M1 M2 / J1 J2 X N1 N2 N3 N4 N5 N6 N7

D1D2/M1M2/J1J2: date of the filling.
X: is in all cases a blank field.
N1 to N7: serial number of the filled package in the filling run.

Example:

15/05/06 0004414 a product filled on the 15th of May 2006, the package is the 4.414th in the filling run.

 General Advise

- On certificates for packed goods line one figures as lot number.
- All correspondence, in case of any specific inquiry, remark or complaint, will refer to the information of at least line one of the lot number.
- For barrels and pails the batch number, as mentioned above, is printed on top of the package, line one is repeated on the label.

Exceptions

The packed products in the Freezium range (produced by Kemira) have a batch numbering differing from above described : batch number is the production date followed by a character.  Example : 290802/A is batch A produced on August 28th, 2002
