Research & Development

At Arteco we believe in meeting and exceeding our customer needs through technological leadership. The R&D department located in Ghent (Belgium) has a major emphasis on improvements to existing processes and the development of new products, responding to specific customer's needs. The focus at Arteco is on market driven research, on tailor made product development and on technical support to customers. 

About 15% of the workforce is employed in development activities. Additional staff are working on coolant development and customer support in ChevronTexaco’s R&D-centres in Ghent, Belgium and Beacon, New York including the analytical laboratory. Arteco is represented in most national and industrial working groups on coolant-related issues.

Arteco has state-of-the art laboratories and research is often conducted under secrecy agreements with potential customers and in co-operation with leading university research institutes or industry workgroups. The following tests can be performed in our laboratories:

• Corrosion testing: ASTM 1384, ASTM 4340, dynamic heat transfer test, potentiokinetic cyclic polarisation, …

• Cavitation testing: ASTM 2809, Knocking Chamber

• Physical testing: pH, viscosity, freeze point, boiling point, density, reserve alkalinity, …

• Analytical testing: HPLC, IC, GC, IR, X-ray.

• Multiple types of miscroscopy.
