What will be your responsibilities?
- Formulate and Develop Sustainable Coolants
You plan and execute experiments related to coolants additives to enhance the life cycle assessment (LCA) of coolant formulations. You prepare detailed analyses of data generated in experiments. Identify, plan, and report aspects related to larger projects in line with the business plan.
You develop and test new coolant formulations that reduce the environmental impact and improve performance. You support the introduction of new technologies into our production process in close collaboration with the key stakeholders. - Research and Innovation
You evaluate production methods specific to different production methodologies for our raw materials and base fluids. You develop processes to minimize waste during production and enhance recyclability at the end of the product's lifecycle.
You will research and develop new sustainable materials, such as biodegradable formulations, recycled materials, or bio-based alternatives. You explore ways to source raw materials more sustainably in collaboration with purchasing, including partnerships with suppliers who adhere to eco-friendly practices - Eco-design Implementation
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, supply chain, legal, and sustainability teams to ensure eco-design principles are integrated throughout the product lifecycle. You conduct LCAs and coordinate, develop and scale pilot projects incorporating eco-design criteria.
You stay updated with and implement the latest eco-design requirements and regulations, such as the Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation. - Develop Technical Solutions
You will support the transition to service-based models, such as leasing or products-as-a-service, to reduce waste and encourage product longevity. It includes designing modular products for easier upgrades and repairs. - Build and Maintain Partnerships
You establish partnerships with suppliers, universities, research organizations, and upgrading and recycling partners. You attend industry conferences and network events. You collaborate with external laboratories for advanced testing and validation of new products in the frame of sustainability.
What makes you the right candidate for this role?
- You hold a master's degree in chemistry, process engineering, or a related discipline.
- You will be capable in combining both mechanical and chemical understanding of the challenges and opportunities.
- You have good assessment skills in chemical and eco-design to assess risks and opportunities.
- You possess strong project management skills.
- You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Additionally, you demonstrate strong communication skills in both Dutch and English to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
