CLP 2017: Final deadline for old DPD labels in Europe

15 May 2017 / Industry news

We would like to inform you on the last deadline in the switch of hazardous chemicals from the Dangerous Preparations Directive (DPD) to the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation in Europe.

Since June 1st, 2015 all mixtures should be classified, labelled and packed according to the CLP regulation. To give everyone sufficient time to deplete the stock in the market still labelled according to the old regulation, a transition period of 2 years until June 1st, 2017 was installed.
With only two weeks remaining, it is important that all products with old labels still on the market - in warehouses and/or on the shelves - will have to be re-classified and re-labelled in accordance with CLP before end of May 2017 in order to comply with the legislation.
