Traditional coolants

The inhibitor package of a traditional coolant typically contains 90% and above mineral/inorganic inhibitors such as borate, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, molybdate, silicate and other inorganic components. There might be some regional preference for different combinations.

Traditional coolants are conventional coolants and tend to have higher values for the reserve alkalinity. This type of coolants is mostly recommended for older engines and technologies.
