As Application Development Chemist, your primary responsibility involves the new product development initiatives focusing on engine coolants and heat transfer fluids. You will report directly to the global R&D Manager.
What will be your responsibilities?
- You lead new product development projects focused on optimizing the performance of our coolants, while also addressing specific customer needs and future applications, with a strong emphasis on advancing e-Mobility and sustainability.
- You develop a new product development testing plan and work in close collaboration with the laboratory team to execute experiments and testing, until reaching the ultimate product candidate. You analyze and communicate the findings to key stakeholders.
- You participate in the initial stages of upscaling, facilitating the smooth transition from R&D to the engineering team and production.
- You develop long-term technical relationships with industry driver partners.
- You stay on top of technology trends and market shifts by collaborating with universities and industrial working groups.
- You use your acquired skills to provide guidance and coaching to lab technicians and other colleagues.
What makes you the right candidate for this role?
- You hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Sciences or Bioscience engineering with a specialization in Chemistry.
- You have further developed upon your academic foundation through several years of professional experience.
- You think creatively from problem to solution, from engine design to cooling parameters, from thermodynamics to fluid dynamics. You will tap from your knowledge of chemical compositions, chemical interactions, and material science to develop the next generation coolant formulations.
- You enjoy working closely with your development colleagues and connecting with the sales team and industry partners comes naturally to you.
- You can easily summarize and break down complex technical information, using your solid scientific and technical know-how, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Since you will be working in a highly international setting, you are fluent in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of other languages and presentation skills are an asset.
- You are a committed lifelong learner, and always keep an eye out for the latest in engine tech, materials, and sustainable developments.
