Gas liquefaction

Turning a gas into a liquid state

Most gases can be turned into a liquid state by cooling them down at atmospheric pressure. However, some gases require pressurisation as well.

This gas liquefaction requires the removal of latent heat in a condenser using a heat transfer medium.  Liquefaction of gases may be for storage (e.g. LPG), transportation, refrigeration, air conditioning or cryosurgery (e.g. liquid nitrogen) purposes.
